These easy to prepare bars are always a hit. You can pick your favorite conserve to use, the flavors always blend perfectly.
Ingredients:
2 sticks unsalted butter
1 ½ cups granulated sugar
2 extra large eggs at room temperature
1 cup creamy peanut buter
1 jar Chocolate Moose
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 jars Strawberry-Raspberry Conserve, Wild-Blueberry Apple Conserve or Cranberry-Apple Conserve
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 9x13x2 cake pan.
In the bowl of an electric mixer with paddle attachment cream the butter and sugar on low speed for 2 minutes. Add the eggs, peanut butter and Chocolate Moose and mix until everything is combined.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt together into a bowl. With mixer on low speed slowly add the flour mixture to the chocolate mixture. Mix just until combined.
Spread 2/3 of the dough evenly into the cake pan. Spread the conserve over this layer and then drop small globs of remaining dough on top of this (don’t worry about covering everything. Bake for 45 mintues and cool before cutting.
Finally… rich, hot fudge sauce dark enough to satisfy chocolate lovers everywhere, blended to perfection with chopped, roasted hazelnuts and New York State maple syrup.
Spoon it over your favorite fruit or ice cream and add fresh whipped cream for the ultimate dark chocolate indulgence!
